Although your staff may be very reliable, unexpected illness, last minute holidays or personnel leaving unexpectedly could reduce the ratio of staff to children which is legally required by Social Services.  Alphabet Childcare ( South West ) Ltd have a very busy temporary register of both qualified Nursery Nurses and unqualified Nursery assistants who can help you sort this problem at very short notice.  We also have quality candidates looking for permanent positions and for providing both temporary and permanent employees we offer a comprehensive service that is a fraction of the cost of our competitors.  

As specialists in childcare, we are very selective about the candidates accepted onto our register and will only introduce to you employees who have chosen childcare and early education as a vocation.  This ensures that they will be dedicated to the care of children and not using childcare as a stopgap or because an individual feels, mistakenly, that it is an easy option in life!  We look for high calibre candidates with relevant training and/or experience and from a background that is supported by acceptable standards of references from previous employers and/or supervisors, if they are newly qualified.

In order to be registered with Alphabet Childcare (South West) Ltd, every candidate must:

*  complete an extensive application form detailing their background, experience, qualifications and knowledge of  
    various age groups.

*  complete a Health and Criminal Statement form which has been endorsed by Social Services. 

*  provide appropriate references

*  attend an interview to complete the rigorous process.

We have access to the criminal records bureau and offer all our candidates the opportunity to request a police check.

There is no registration fee for nurseries to use the agency.  There will be a charge on every placement made at the nursery whether temporary or permanent and on temporary contracts, agency fees are calculated on the number of days the employee is supplied. 

Should the nursery decide to offer more work to an employee, even if the offer has not been made directly through the agency, further charges will be made on the temporary scales unless an agreement is made to transfer the candidate from the temporary charges to a permanent fee in full settlement. 

For permanent vacancies, we will look at your specific requirements and will advise potential employees of the full details of your vacancy. The candidates are closely matched for their suitability to the vacancy and after short listing applicants who have registered an interest in the position we will provide you with a full curriculum vitae, profile of their personality and copies of their references for you to look through at your convenience. We will then arrange interviews at times to suit your timetable.

The office is usually manned between 7.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday but there is an answer-phone always in operation if the office is closed or we are temporarily busy interviewing or out visiting nurseries such as yourselves. We will endeavour to return your calls as early as we can and look forward to being of service to you in the future.
