We are hosting Paediatric First Aid Courses at our office in Henleaze

Saturdays: from 9.30am – 4.30pm flexible on dates – run monthly;

Mondays from 6.30 - 9.30 pm – please call if you are interested in alternative days as we may be able to help you!

You do not need to be on our register to book a place so please let other people know!!
This course is suitable for anyone wishing to register with Ofsted as a Nanny / Homecarer / Childminder but will also be of interest to anyone who cares for, or works with children including Parents / Grandparents / Nursery Staff / Teaching staff etc.

Supervised Contact Awareness & Report Writing Course

Alphabet Childcare is committed to ensuring that all Care Workers who undertake Contact Supervision are fully aware of issues related to the work they undertake with children and families.

The Course will cover:

  • How to carry out supervised contact effectively and efficiently

·         An understanding of the “bigger picture” of contact

  • The Law relating to contact
  • Child Protection
  • The Role of the Contact Supervisor. Do’s and Don’ts
  • Awareness of how to complete accurate factual written contact reports
  • Dealing with Child Disclosure
  • Understanding risk assessments when working with children & families
  • Dealing with difficult situations
  • Domestic Violence
  • Anti-discriminatory Practice and Confidentiality.

The cost is £40 inclusive. Next course is running on the 4th February 2012

The youngest has mild Cerebral Palsy with some other medical needs and the middle child has Leukaemia, so therefore the Nanny cannot have had any contact with sickness/diarrrhoea, chicken pox etc within the last 48 hours. The son attends Nursery on Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays. He enjoys playing outside and the family have a large garden and a local park. He is known to run off after dogs, so this will need to be discouraged. Mum may be in the house at times if unwell or working from home. Mum has also mentioned that they may try for another baby soon and is advised that she could be very poorly thoughout her pregnancy (as she was previously) and may need temporary cover for weeks, rather than days.  If this is of interest to you, please let us know;

The 14 year old walks to and from school and needs to concentrate on her homework as she is currently in the first year of her GCSE`s. The oldest two no longer live at home. This position will include taking the youngest to Cubs & Tennis lessons and having a friend over once a week for tea. Some housework and laundry is required, putting on the washing and running the hoover around. Simple cooking required for teas and baking cakes with the children. Their current Nanny is going on maternity leave and has been with the family for 11 years! They are looking for someone who can be a friend to the children, punctual and organized. Both houses are set up for all of the children and are only a few minutes apart. This position is permanent and does not include drop offs as the parents do this.
